Also, less intelligent people are prone to entirely misconstruing jokes written and performed by more intelligent people.Anyway, check out this awesome show, especially if you're an American, because great Canadian content like this too often gets trampled by American media. This show may struggle because (no matter how many times you say, "It's 2016") men are still frightened of funny women. There is absolutely no standard sketch length here, and I love that. They take time building up to a quality punchline when it's necessary, but when it's not, they keep things short. I will say that I love how widely the sketches vary in length. I could go on about how hit-or-hit the sketches are and how ludicrously talented and smart the writers, comedians and actors are (it's all true), but you should just check out the show. It's fresh, it's hilarious, and contains exactly none of the "3rd-Reich-Feminism" that a previous viewer claims it does, proving for the zillionth time that people make up whatever ignorant garbage they want and post shamelessly. At a Jack and Jill baby shower, the mother and father to be, as a party game, embark on a Q asked of him and A guessed by her. An inmate on death row receives her last meal. A customer at a clothing store mistakes another customer for a sales clerk. I am a (male) American currently living in Canada, and chanced across this show one night. A couple of women in a protest group question the logistics of what they are about to do. The humor is smart and feminist without feeling agenda-driven - above all else, it's about the my first IMDb review ever so that people have something else to read besides one single batch of absurdity written by a person who has been ludicrously swept up in their own privilege. The show offers a fresh, funny perspective on topics as serious as body image and sexual harassment to silly bits on a woman's over-reliance on dry shampoo and the holier-than-thou attitudes prevalent in hipster coffee culture. Here, brevity really is the soul of wit, with most sketches clocking in at five minutes or less. A German Biographical Sketch of him tells how this was cured. The Baroness von Sketch Show cast/creators share a similarly absurd, and at times surreal, sense of humor and have the good sense to end a sketch while they're ahead - a tactic that can't always be said about the sketches on SNL, which often stretch out a joke until it just isn't funny anymore. and Bettine is the Baroness von Arnim, a little, lively, black - eyed, handsome. The overall tone is highly reminiscent (without seeming derivative) of their also-Canadian predecessors, the Kids in the Hall, the all-male comedy troupe whose show of the same name has delighted comedy fans since the late '80s/early '90s. The show has definitely tapped into the needs of an overlooked viewer whose interests are not necessarily being served by shows like Inside Amy Schumer or Saturday Night Live. IFC released the first trailer for season four of ‘Baroness von Sketch Show,’ a sketch-comedy series starring Carolyn Taylor, Meredith MacNeill, Aurora Browne, and Jennifer Whalen. It's incredibly refreshing to see a sketch comedy series created and performed entirely by women - and more to the point, women who are all over 40.
